Use of BRAIN MODE® power for New Employee On-Boarding

During the 1990’s the Monsanto Dairy organization used early versions of BRAIN MODE® power in their new hire development program. Each class of new hires participated in a 4 hour training session focusing on:

    • Self-assessment of learning and thinking preferences
    • Exercises designed to accelerate participants learning and personal growth
    • Develop a deeper bond among participant cohort group, and
    • Foster a learning organization.

The sessions were led by Deanna Phelps and Stephen Hager who created the BRAIN MODE® power materials based on the principals of Accelerated Learning and Neuro- Linguistic Program. The sessions were energizing, unique and positive.

The program had numerous contributions to the creation of the Monsanto Dairy culture.

  1. Participants learned an aspect of their core being, in a very simple, usable and easily understood context of learning (auditory, visual and kinesthetic) and thinking (global, integrated and sequential) style.
  2. As part of the on-boarding process, it placed early emphasis on the importance of learning, training and personal growth.
  3. The program was woven into a 2-3 week training program and provided tools to help the participants more effectively learn product and business knowledge, plus critical skills in selling, territory management, conducting client meetings, etc.
  4. The concepts taught were easily transferred to working with clients, thus participants realized that if they better aligned with the learning and thinking styles of the people they influenced, they were going to be more successful in creating change and achieving business objectives.
  5. Content from the program supported team dynamics. Participants learned how to better exchange information and knowledge among their cohort group by again aligning with individual learning and thinking styles.
  6. It impacted organizational culture, as everyone in the field sales, technical services and marketing organization experienced the program. It supported philosophically the development of a learning organization and culture. The importance of learning, growth and change was ubiquitous through-out the organization and it extended to client and industry key influencers.
